Keukenhof Garden just outside of Amsterdam, NL. A slightly overcast day didn't hamper the wonderful color and beauty of these meticulous botanical gardens.
Ah - water and reflections! A great layering of visual garden design that's supplemented by the attention to detail in everything from planting to lawn edges and tree pruning. There are many subtly framed views such as this.
The Keukenhof Gardens near the Wilhelmina Pavilions is truly a remarkable space. The visual layering of tree canopy, flower color, grading and reflections in the water shows a proud attention to detail by the landscape architects, garden designers, and maintenance staff of this wonderful facility. The tree textures along the top of the image gave me inspiration to create an interesting mirrored version of this image you might want to check out in the 'Esoterica' section of my website.
I was anamoured with the reflections throughout the Wilhelmina Pavilions in Amsterdam. But compositionally, this reflection was created digitally in photoshop, and not the natural reflection shown in a similar image on my website. Both the original, and this artifical version, are equally interesting in their own ways.
The River Queen docked in Heusden, NL with the bascule bridge arms in the foreground.
Captains toast and welcome aboard event. A Uniworld tradition.
Amsterdam streets have some great vehicles. This WW II sidecar motorcycle needs some tender loving care to get back on the road again - but it sure would be a gem if it was running again!
bartenders aboard the River Queen were amoungst the many friends we made during the trip
Me just having a little digital fun with one of my panorama images from the Keukenhof Gardens - Amsterdam. For context, this is NOT a photograph of a reflection of trees in a lake on a foggy day.
