The hand held long exposure was little bit tricky but fun just the same.

I found this scene funny. The giant hand reaching out as it had just bent the tree. Or perhaps the tree was leaning to try and get away

Here Rests In Honored Glory An American Soldier Known But To God.Not much else need really be said.I liked the composition for it's stoic emptyness and with just a sliver of the Washington, DC, skyline in the distance for context.

Sentinel at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier (also referred to as the tomb of the unknowns). This is a more traditional look for this scene but patience was key in getting it all to be vertical. Ultimately the scene is about one thing - honor - so the shoulder flash was the only color I wanted to keep.

Despite the sunset colors not being the most spectacular - I liked by how the light was playing off of the tall grasses.

There stands Jackson like a stone wall! Rally round the Virginians! ~ Barnard Bee. While it was a very overcast and lightly rainy day, this framed view caught my eye as I was walking back to the car to leave Monassas. Somehow that dark, drab, flatly light day made for a pretty nice image.

Rickett's guns on Henry Hill, Monassas Battlefield. I didn't want a typical photo of the guns/canon's. Rather a closer, sharply focused, view with the others for context seemed like a more interesting way to tell that story.

The fence line at Henry Hill, with it's civil war equipment, seemed to make a nice scene on an overcast day.

Being goofy and bored in the airport lounge. I wonder how many times we've all looked at this scene and never stopped to take the photo.
